Semi Final Thrillers

A quick note on the Regency and Sacred Heart game.

Amazing turn around of events, Regency out played Scared heart in the first half and scoring the only goal but perhaps should have put 3 or 4 away. Second half saw regency step up in the first 20mins of the game and score a great goal for a 2 nil lead, then sacred heart do the unthinkable.

A rebound ball hitting a very questionable hand ball gives scared heart a penalty 2 -1, then Sacred heart have a send off 5 mins later down to 10 men. Regency go and attack and miss every single opportunity to finish the game. Sacred Heart bring on a few subs and J cook comes out with a blinder making short work on the regency defense. 90 mins gone and the referee adds on 6 and 1/2 minutes with sacred heart scoring in the 6 min ? making it 2 all and Extra time.

Sacred heart get another player sent off now with 9 men, score a third goal and play the last 15mins under pressure until the whistle.

a great game with plenty of action and controversy.

SOHC and Uni White Final should be good.

Yep the ultimate get out of jail card. Regency simply outplayed shoc all game and can count themselves unlucky. 6 mins stoppage time was justified as Regency players were down with injuries for a lot of the 2nd half. SHOC had 2 sent off, one for biting back at the ref who told the player he was sh*t and couldnt pass the ball. I'll take CSL refs over these think they are too good federation refs any day! The other red for swearing at an opposition player....surely that happens all the time! And two footed challenges apparantly dont go unpunished any more...? Bizzare.

Uni Whites v Unley game was also a cracker - Uni White scored the only goal of the first half. early in the second half, an Unley midfielder then boots a superb free kick to level the scores. A mistake at the back allowed the Whites to go up 2-1 with a delightful chip of the keeper. Then Unley had a player sent off for a 2nd yellow (who was probably a bit stiff really - i dont think he knew the other player was there when he went to kick it). Late in the game Unley then hit the woodwork in stoppage time - could easily have taken the game to extra time.

Glad we are not the only ones who think the red card was a bit stiff in the Unley game...ref let a lot of poor tackles go and dished out a yellow for a 'high foot' which was not much more than knee height and the Uni White bloke put his head down. Our bloke had no idea he was there. Stiff.

Having said that, Uni White was the better team on the day, their #6 and #11 in the midfield were outstanding. 2 sending offs and a bunch of yellows in the second game should test SHOC's depth as we move into the last month of the season....

Looking forward to what should be a fantastic final. Very excited about the Whites making the final for the first time in about 9 years. Should be a cracker of a game.

Why so negative about Burton? Its the 2nd best behind Hindmarsh. Much better at Burton then Santos. Where esle do you want the cup final played?

Distance the only negative - but a big one when you want supporters. Hopefully they all make it out for the final when there are no other games on.
